In 2025, marking the 470th anniversary of its founding, Chiso had the opportunity to explore points of connection between the world and notions of beauty and value—across a wide spectrum and at varying depths. Seeking new “perspectives” within what already exists brought us a sense of freshness and discovery.
In 2026, we turn our attention to how we engage with value itself, in the hope of sparking new creation. As an approach, we propose a kind of “factorization.”

By confronting forms of value that already exist—such as long-standing cultural traditions—we begin to unravel them, element by element. We touch, observe, and reflect on each component, considering how they come together to construct what we perceive as value.
Once we are able to grasp value anew in this way, might it be possible to gather these elements again and reconstruct them into entirely different forms? With a sense of lightness that allows them to reach anywhere, perhaps they can be reintroduced into the world in new ways.

This is how we have continued to create. Today as well, let us carefully unravel the values that move our hearts.
